Mechouia salad or Slata Mechouia (or Mechouiya) is a salad of Tunisian/Moroccan origin made with roasted peppers and tomatoes. Follow this super simple recipe to make it at home and delight your guests’s taste buds.
You can serve it with olives, hard-boiled eggs or tuna flakes.

Grill the vegetables for the Mechouia salad.Preheat your oven to 200°C on the fan setting. |

Preparation of Slata MechouiaPlace the peppers in a sealed plastic bag (or freezer bag) and leave them to cool. |

Chop the vegetablesIn a salad bowl, mix together the tomatoes, peppers and roasted garlic cloves. Chop everything up using two knives, or you can also blend them in a food processor (without making the mixture too liquid). |

Mechouia Salad DressingOnce the mixture is finely chopped, season your mechouia salad with ground caraway, cayenne pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. Mix well. |
