Directions
Banana Fufu is a ball of dough made of plantains and crushed cassava. It is the ideal accompaniment to the famous seed sauce or peanut sauce.

Cut the Bananas and the CassavaPeel your cassava root and 4 plantains. Cut the cassava into small cubes and cut the plantains into three equal pieces. |

In a pot, or large saucepan, bring water to a boil and then add the bananas and cassava pieces with a little salt. Cook over medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes until the cassava is tender. |

Remove the cassava and bananas from the water. Use a mortar to mash the cassava until it forms a smooth paste. Then add the bananas a little at a time, continuing to mash until you have a smooth paste. |

Add cassava flour (optional)I personally like to add cassava flour to my Banana Foutou! To do this, transfer your mashed cassava and bananas into a bowl and add a little flour according to the consistency of Foutou you want (up to 150g). |

Shape your FoutouUsing your hands or a small bowl, shape your banana fufu dough into balls and place them in a serving dish. |
